- Board Member, Monticello Big Lake Community Hospital, 2009 to present. Elected by citizens of the City of Monticello.
- Group Health Cooperative, Madison, WI, 2001 to 2005. Earned a prestigous teaching award teaching Family Medicine residents. Started 2 successful healthy habits programs for children.
- Pediatric Residency Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. Program ranked 3rd in the nation for Pediatric Training Programs. Won 2 prestigous teaching awards. Scored 92nd percentile on Pediatric Board exam.
- Medical School, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. Graduated magna cum laude. Earned AOA Honors early in 3rd year. High Honors in 8 clinical rotations including Pediatrics, Neonatal ICU, and Pediatric ICU. Scored 98th and 91st percentile on medical board tests.
- Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT. Double Majored in Psychology and Neuroscience. Graduated in top 3% of class. Rhodes Scholar Finalist. Phi Beta Kappa. Had the highest grade point average after the 1st year. 4 time All-American in Cross Country and Track.

A sports enthusiast, Dr. Mahoney enjoys both soccer and running. Dr. Mahoney was fortunate enough to run in the Olympic Trials for the marathon in 2004 after running a 2:19:36 marathon. His passion for fitness has led him to create programs for kids centered on childhood obesity prevention through nutrition and exercise. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter.
